Consistent performance, easy to use

This is my third year with Getscreen.me, renewing my annual subscription. I initially started with the free version, then moved to a paid plan for the extra features like session recording and multi-monitor support. My previous orders were always smooth, and this renewal was no different. The service has been consistently reliable. I primarily use it for remote support for family members, and the Unattended Access Agent works perfectly every time. I appreciate that they haven't made any drastic changes that disrupt the workflow. It's just a dependable remote desktop solution.

Smooth setup, useful features

I needed a remote desktop solution that was easy for clients to use without complex installs. Getscreen.me's browser-based access for the Quick Support Tool was exactly what I was looking for. The ordering process was simple; I signed up for the Pro plan directly from the website. Setting up my first session took literally minutes. I really liked the File Transfer Tool during a support call, it saved me a lot of hassle. The video recording feature was also a nice addition for auditing. The only minor hiccup was that one time, the chat function briefly disconnected, but it reconnected on its own quickly. For remote system information, it provided all the basics I needed without clutter. Overall, a good experience from start to finish.

Reliable remote access

Signed up for the Starter plan. Needed to access my work PC from home. The Unattended Access Agent worked well. Connection was stable. Interface is clean. Got the job done quickly.

Good for quick support, some glitches

I purchased the Starter plan for Getscreen.me mostly for the Quick Support Tool and some unattended access. The browser-based access is very convenient, and I didn't have to install anything chunky. Setting up unattended access on a couple of my machines was straightforward enough. However, I did notice some lag when connecting to a machine that was on a slower internet connection, more so than with other tools I've tried. Customer service was responsive when I had a billing question, which was a plus. Overall, it's a solid tool for the price, but they could probably optimize performance on less-than-ideal networks.

Hey, thinking about grabbing Getscreen.me but worried about committing. Is there a way to try it out before buying a full plan?

C Colin Ito 2 months ago
Yeah, they have a free version that's pretty good for basic stuff, and I think a 14-day trial for the paid features.

I just did the 14-day trial last month. It was super easy to set up and gave me a good feel for everything.

What's the deal with using this on my phone? Can I actually control my home PC from my iPhone?

D David 2 months ago
Yep, you totally can. I use it all the time to quickly check something on my work computer from my Android.

It's pretty smooth for screen sharing from iOS, and you can definitely control from Android devices. Not sure if iOS does full control, but screen sharing for sure.

How do you even put in a promo code? I can't find where to enter it when I'm checking out.

M Mark Patel 2 months ago
It's on the billing page, usually right before you finalize payment. Look for a field labeled 'promo code' or 'coupon'.

Yeah, it's towards the end of the checkout process. Can be easy to miss if you're rushing.

Thinking of switching from TeamViewer. How does Getscreen stack up against it for everyday use?

P Phil Marsh 2 months ago
Honestly, for just getting into another machine quickly, it's way less hassle. No installs, just a browser. TeamViewer always felt a bit clunky for me.

I found it faster to connect with Getscreen, especially for quick support. TeamViewer sometimes feels like overkill for simple tasks.

Anyone know if they do those lifetime deals? Saw some chatter about it somewhere.

P Priya Bennett 1 month ago
They've had them before, definitely. Keep an eye out around big sale times, like Black Friday.

I snagged a lifetime deal a while back. They're not always available but pop up now and then.

Are there any discounts for paying annually instead of monthly? Trying to save a few bucks.

J James Walsh 2 months ago
Yeah, they usually give you a decent discount if you pay for a whole year upfront.

Pretty sure it's around 20% off if you go for the annual billing. I did that, makes a difference.

Does this thing need me to install a bunch of software on the computer I want to connect to?

C Cleo 2 months ago
Only a small agent if you want unattended access, but for quick support, the person just opens a link in their browser.

Nah, that's the cool part! Mostly browser-based. Super minimal setup for the target computer, which is awesome.
